About The Show

Using iconic performance footage, rarely heard interviews and never-before-seen material selected from thousands of hours of film in the vaults of the David Bowie Archive in New York,  from Space Oddity through Diamond Dogs and ”Heroes” to , this show is a celebration of Bowie’s boundless curiosity as a force that connected people across continents and generations, as well as his enduring cultural impact today. Whether you’re reliving the magic or discovering it for the very first time: this is your ticket to the landmark Bowie performances that changed culture forever.

David Bowie: You’re Not Alone is produced by Lightroom and designed by 59, a Journey studio, and directed by 59’s Mark Grimmer (Creative Director for the V&A’s David Bowie Is exhibition) and Tom Wexler.

What You’ll See

Lightroom’s fully projected 11-metre tall walls and vast open floor become the canvas for a truly one-of-a-kind presentation. Bringing together a wealth of visual material from a wide range of sources, the show combines rare performance footage, photography, drawings, lyrics, personal notes and sketches to craft the most vivid, detailed and immersive visual exploration yet of Bowie’s worlds. Structured in thematic chapters in a looping presentation, You’re Not Alone brings insight into Bowie’s perspective on the subjects most important to him, including: theatricality, spirituality, songwriting, and the transformative power of creativity. 

What You’ll Hear

You’re Not Alone makes full use of Lightroom’s unique sound capabilities and specialised HOLOPLOT spatial audio system. Each track in the show has been newly reconfigured by multiple Olivier and Tony award-winning sound designer Gareth Fry (Harry Potter & The Cursed Child, David Bowie Is). Featuring the artist as its sole voice, a story composed from hundreds of interviews spanning a five-decade-long career at the cutting edge of art and culture sees Bowie invite you into his way of thinking like never before.

Just Announced: Bowie Nights

A series of cross-disciplinary Spring and Summer events celebrating the life and work of David Bowie, featuring major artists influenced by his work, from Anna Calvi to Jonathan Barnbrook to  Adam Buxton. The season will run from May to September 2026.

Bowie Nights: Lates

6pm-10pm – Fridays in May: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

As part of the Bowie Nights programme, David Bowie: You’re Not Alone will open late every Friday in May. Whether it’s your first time joining us in the many worlds of David Bowie, or you’re coming back to relive the magic again (…and again!), Lates are the hottest ticket in town to the iconic performances that saw Bowie redefine culture forever: from the stalls of the Hammersmith Odeon in 1973 through to 2016, via festival stages, sound studios, music videos and everything in between. This is You’re Not Alone as it’s meant to be enjoyed – together.

Each Late will be themed to a different era of Bowie’s career: 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and an all-encompassing finale. Come dressed in your best Bowie looks – with prizes available for best dressed – and expect special cocktails and DJs til late in the foyer bar. How long is the show?

One full show is approximately 1hr long and runs on a loop without a fixed beginning or end.

You are welcome to stay for more than one loop, subject to venue capacity.

How do the time slots work?

We sell tickets for show slots every half-hour. Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes earlier than your booked slot.
